Does anyone else think that the new Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat song “Lucky” sounds a little bit like Ernie’s “Rubber Ducky?”
At least the first line? Hear me out…
Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat– “Lucky”
Sing along to that catchy first line: “Do you hear me, talkin’ to you…“
And now compare that to: “Rubber ducky, you’re the one…”
It’s the same tune!!!
When I first heard “Lucky,” somewhere in the depths of my mind I knew I recognized that tune. Which is why– I’m convinced– “Lucky” felt so familiar to me when I first heard it.
Note: I’m not bringing this up to talk about stealing or anything like that (à la Coldplay with “Viva La Vida”).
It had just been bugging me where I’d heard it before…
So, am I going crazy or does anyone out there agree with what I’m saying? Anyone?
Do I watch too many YouTube videos? Or am I making a legit comparison here?
